Below you can find some random facts from wrestling’s yesteryear. Some of them are tremendously out of date, but hey – it still doesn’t hurt to know!

King Kong Bundy appeared in the first two WrestleManias, but didn’t return again until WrestleMania XI.

Kevin Nash was in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 as Super Shredder.

The Undertaker was in Suburban Commando with Hulk Hogan.

The TNA iMPACT! Zone is the same studio WCW used for Worldwide

In 1994, WCW used to hire paid models and actors to sit in the audience to cheer and boo their wrestlers because the audience was usually dead for their shows.

When WCW did the Worldwide syndicated show, they used to have a monitor to tell the audience who to cheer and who to boo.

Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth Heulette were supposedly “married” in August 1991 at SummerSlam. Savage and Liz were actually married in December 1984.

On March 6, 1992, Paul Roma made his pro boxing debut which resulted in a 4-round loss when his manager threw in the towel.

On April 4, Titan Sports debuted WBF BodyStars on USA Network. It was cancelled soon after.

On October 1, 1992, Kerry Von Erich was sentenced to six felony counts of prescription forgery.

When Shawn Michaels was attacked outside of a nightclub by approximately 10 “thugs”in 1995 (actually it was by a group of Marines), Shawn was accompanied by the late Davey Boy Smith and Sean Waltman.

Ted DiBiase attends church at First Assembly of God in Concord, North Carolina.

Former Four Horsemen member Tully Blanchard is now a preacher in North Carolina.

Retired wrestler Nikita Koloff preaches at First Assembly of God in Concord, North Carolina.

The Ultimate Warrior left WWE in 1991 because he and Vince McMahon did not come to terms on his future role. Warrior wanted to be in the title situation but WWE saw it differently.

The Ultimate Warrior was the original Slim Jim spokesman.

Bastion Booger is now a bouncer somewhere in North Carolina.

JBL played his last two college football games with a broken leg.

Tony Schiavone was an announcer with WWE in the late 1980’s.

Apparently feeling he had nothing to lose, Sid Justice doublecrossed Vince McMahon by kicking out of Hogan’s legdrop at WrestleMania VIII.

The Rock’s first WrestleMania was as Rocky Maivia’s when he defeated The Sultan to retain the Intercontinental championship.

No heel left any of the first 14 WrestleManias as WWE World Champion.

The Shawn Michaels-Bret Hart “Ironman Match” at WrestleMania XII lasted 61:52.

Sable debuted at WrestleMania XII as Hunter Hearst Helmsley’s valet.

The late Bam Bam Bigelow was chosen as the opponent for Lawrence Taylor at WrestleMania XI because he was the WWE’s best big man worker.

The late Owen Hart wrestled as The Blue Blazer against Curt Hennig at WrestleMania V, losing by pinfall.

The late Owen Hart either entered or left WrestleMania as a World Tag Team Champion with three different partners: Yokozuna, Davey Boy Smith, and Jeff Jarrett.

The theme song for In Your House: Badd Blood became Steve Blackman’s entance music.

Kevin Nash played University basketball, but was kicked off the team for numerous altercations with the coach.

Raven was an announcer and manager of The Quebecers in WWE in 1993/94, going by the name Johnny Polo.

DDP and Raven were trained by Jake “The Snake” Roberts.

Jerry Lawler was a 23 time USWA Champion.

Paul Bearer, before getting into the wrestling business, actually worked at a morgue.

Diesel beat Bob Backlund for the WWE Title in 8 seconds.

Andre the Giant’s last WrestleMania match was at WrestleMania VI, where he teamed with Haku as the Colossal Connection to lose the WWE Tag Titles to Demolition.

The Undertaker is undefeated at WrestleMania.

Steve Austin is a big-time antiques collector.

One of the band members who performed DeGeneration X’s theme song is Triple H’s real life brother.

Test (Andrew Martin) was trained by Bret “The Hitman” Hart.

Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor were scripted to have a gay marriage as a part of a storyline at a PPV. Jerry Lawler (Brian Christopher’s father) strongly objected and the idea was nixed.

Kane was born in Madrid, Spain.

Kane has a degree in English and Teaching.

Former WWE superstar, Tito Santana owns a hair salon in Roxbury, New Jersey.

Prior to joining the WWE, Hardcore Holly worked as a full-time welder.

Bret “The Hitman” Hart used to co-own a professional hockey team known as The Calgary Hitmen.

“The Franchise” Shane Douglas and Headbanger Mosh have licenses to teach.

Jerry Lawler and The Honky Tonk Man are cousins.

Shawn Michaels is a huge fan of country singer, Garth Brooks.

JBL once competed in the NFL, but had to retire due to a knee injury.

The Rock is a skilled light tackle salt water fisherman.

Along with Chyna and Triple H, Perry Saturn and Albert were also trained by Killer Kowalski.

Most of WCW’s theme music was composed by Jimmy Hart.

Colonel Robert Parker used to wrestle under the name of Robert Fuller before retiring and becoming a manager.

Marc Mero won three New York State golden gloves in boxing before entering professional wrestling.

Ahmed Johnson used to play football for the Dallas Cowboys.

Chris Chetti was the first man to graduate from ECW’s House of Hardcore training school.

Sean Waltman is a computer whiz.

Duke “The Dumpster” Droese loves to do imitations. His best one is none other than Vince McMahon.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is good at doing impressions. His best is none other than Eric Bischoff.

Brian Pillman played two years of NFL football for The Cincinatti Bengals.

Before entering WWE, Rena Mero was a top model for Guess Jeans wear.

Before she married Brian Pillman, Melanie Pillman went out with Jim Hellwig (The Ultimate Warrior).

Brian Lee (Chainz) was the best man at Mark Callaway’s (The Undertaker) wedding.

Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Marty Jannetty, and Blitzkreig all used The Hollywood Blondes’ theme music in WCW.

Scott Hall agreed to be the best man at Justin Credible’s wedding but failed to contact him in the weeks before the ceremony and ultimately no-showed.

Roddy Piper announced that his last wrestling match would be at WrestleMania III against Adrian Adonis.

Terry Funk first announced his retirement in 1983.

In 1995, Buff Bagwell had calf implants which leaked – he had them removed.

Vince McMahon, Jr. wanted to become a wrestler, but his father, the late Vince McMahon, Sr. strongly objected to him doing so.

Before breaking into wrestling, the original ECW’s New Jack (Jerome Young) worked as a bounty hunter.

During one drinking session, Andre The Giant downed 119 bottles of beer.

Barry Windham’s father, Blackjack Mulligan, served time for counterfeiting.

Cactus Jack and Terry Funk were originally scheduled to face the New Age Outlaws in a “Barbed Wire Match” at WrestleMania XIV, but PPV executives objected to them doing so, hence the Dumpster Match.

Back when the ECW/WWE angle was going on in 1997, the WWE was going to hold a live Raw from the ECW Arena, despite it’s size. This idea was nixed, however.

Back in the 1980’s, Hulk Hogan’s opponents were banned from mentioning his receding hair line in interviews.
