Mick Foley was interviewed by a local CBS affiliate Saturday night before a stand-up show, and in addition to talking about his work in comedy, he was also asked about TNA, and the major risk they took going head-to-head with WWE.

“I would have thought going head-to-head was a mistake…But it did definitely create a buzz,” Foley said. “And the best possible scenario for everybody, wrestlers, wrestling companies, and especially fans, is for people to be talking about the product, which will ultimately make everybody better.”

Foley was also asked about the number of wrestlers jumping ship from WWE to TNA.

“It’s not necessarily there’s anything wrong with working for [WWE]. I loved it for the most part working off and on for 12 years,” Foley said. “It would be similar to a baseball player not getting his swings in for one team, then switches over and ends up having an All-Star year. I still felt like I could be a big contributor and TNA gave me that chance.”
