TNA Major Impact: Buttoning Up the Storylines for Hard Justice
Written by: Joe on Thursday, August 9th, 2007
TBLWrestling.com Presents TNA Major Impact!

Too much Brother Ray on the stick for my liking tonight. Unfortunately, Impact opened with Brother Ray running his mouth…again. At this point, he’s generating the X-Pac type of “heat” that makes me want to change the channel. Ah, who am I kidding? It’s TNA – I’m probably not going to change the channel…

How about Matt Morgan making his debut as Jim Cornette’s enforcer? Big props to my fellow Monmouth University alumnus, Matt Morgan!

We were introduced to the “Doomsday Chamber of Blood Match” – a personal request by Abyss to Jim Cornette. The rules of the match are as such: steel cage, barbed wire wrapped around the top of the cage, the only way to win the match is to pin your opponent – but you’ve got to make him bleed first. Sounds like a lot of rules, but it could be an interesting match. Oh yeah, this was Abyss’ request for a match against the Christian Coalition. The final stipulation? The winner gets a title shot at September’s No Surrender pay-per-view.

Yes folks, we have our major impact of the week. To me, the announcement of a “Doomsday Chamber of Blood Match” creates more impact for my viewing pleasure than Pacman Jones making his TNA wrestling debut (which I don’t think he is allowed to do).

I’m sorry folks, but the concept of Kurt Angle moping around backstage asking for Kevin Nash to console him is absolutely hilarious. I laughed a few times with Kurt’s acting.

The rest of Impact saw a vignette for Black Reign (a new wrestler coming to TNA) though the voiceover sounded like Dustin Runnels. We also had a sweet hardcore match that saw Raven juice a little bit and Brother Devon team up with Kipp James to take on Rick Steiner and Homicide of LAX. You gotta respect the way that TNA is trying to mix and mingle their big-time tag teams so that everyone gets a rub from each other. Should be interesting to see which of these teams ends up with the title (can we get the tag titles off of Samoa Joe already?).

The show ended with the continuation of the Angle divorce storyline which saw the “emotional destruction” of Kurt Angle, a run-in by Team 3D (including a devastating chair shot from Brother Devon), and The Steiner Brothers cleaning out the ring to end the show.

Quote of the Night:
“They don’t have the satchel to come out to the ring and tell us this to our face.” – Christian’s spin on saying Sting, Abyss, and Martin don’t have any balls
