TNA Major Impact: Sting and Angle Both Win?
Written by: Joe on Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

TBLWrestling.com Presents TNA Major Impact!

As TNA Impact! came to a close this week, it appeared as though both Sting and Kurt Angle beat Christian to earn a shot at the TNA World Championship. Unlike some wrestling organizations of both the past and present, TNA gave us a conclusion to the match with Jim Cornette saying that both men won the match! In other words, it looks like we’re getting a three-way dance for the World Championship at the Sacrifice pay-per-view.

I can live with that – and the announcement of that three-way match is this week’s major impact.

When watching TNA, there really is no choice but to compare what you see to the competition at times. And since I don’t intend for these TNA Major Impact columns to be comparisons against WWE, I will say that the way the main event of this show ended is something that you’d almost never see on the competition. Why, you ask? Well, for a variety of reasons.

First, TNA knows that they’re not going to pull a 2.0 rating or higher over night. So they don’t have to worry about creating the stupid suspense that you find on WWE shows – you know what this is, the suspense that makes you want to tune in the following week to get an answer to your questions (think “Lost” on ABC). WWE has been doing this since the advent of the Attitude Era a decade or so ago.

I admire TNA because they try to give you everything that you want to know by the end of the show – and most of the time they are successful at it!

Moving on…

The three-way title match at Sacrifice will likely be a great one (as almost all TNA pay-per-view matches are these days). I look for the title to change hands as I think the bookers want to spread the love a little bit in the organization.

Quotes of the Night:
“The only people that ought to be fired around here are you and that flirtation floozie of yours!” – Jim Cornette desribing Ms. Brooks to Robert Roode
